Healthy eating
Your eating habits play a critical role in your overall health and well-being and it.s important that you make healthy food choices as often as possible. So, to help you along here are a few tips to keep your nutrition on the right track.
Avoid skipping meals
Eat a variety of foods everyday
No single food supplies all the nutrients your body needs to function well. To feel and look your best, include a wide variety of healthful foods. Choosing a variety of foods does not have to be difficult or time-consuming.
Vary your grocery list when shopping for yourself.
Eat fruits and veggies
Take a piece of fruit with you at work for a mid-morning or late-afternoon snack rather than hitting the vending machine for a bag of chips.
Eat some green stuff
Cut down on fat; do not eliminate it. Remember, some fat in the diet is important.
Try skim or low-fat milk instead of 2% or whole (The key here is to drink milk. If switching to skim or low-fat milk is so undesirable as to decrease your intake, then stick with the 2%) Choose leaner cuts of meat and eat a variety including beef, poultry and fish. Go for the grilled, baked or broiled rather than the fried. Try lower fat snacks.
Choose whole-grain and enriched breads and cereals.
Avoid excessive amounts of caffeine
Too much caffeine can disrupt sleep patterns. Although sleep disruption may be the desired result of caffeine intake when working hard it’s due, too much caffeine can ultimately result in greater fatigue. And remember, a cup of coffee is not a good substitute for a meal.
