Pumpkin Pie from Crete

Directions

  1. Brown the pumpkin and the onion and cook till mushy.
  2. Drain and add spearmint, grated feta and the eggs.
  3. Prepare the dough and roll it open.
  4. Spread half of it in a buttered baking pan, spread the mixture, and on the top the second half of the dough.
  5. Bake till golden.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 kg of pumpkin
  • 2 onions
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Spearmint
  • 1 lb. of feta cheese
  • 2 or 3 eggs


For the dough

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of butter
  • 1 cup of oil
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 tspn baking powder
  • As much flour as needed
