Ostrich with orange


  1. Cut the meat in pieces of 2 cm thickness. Salt and pepper the meat pieces.
  2. Heat the oil and the butter in a saucepan.
  3. Coat the meat with flour and fry it.
  4. Beat the garlic, the orange juice and the wine with a blender (mix well if one is not available).
  5. Add the mixture in the saucepan and season with salt and pepper adding as much as desired.
  6. Simmer for 1 1/2 hour or until the sauce thickens.


  • 1 kg ostrich steak
  • 1 glass fresh orange juice
  • 1 glass wine dry red wine
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • Flour
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup butter
