Lentil rice


  1. Let the lentils soak in water overnight.
  2. In a sauce pan pour the olive oil and add the diced onion, the mashed garlic, the lentils and the bay leaves.
  3. Boil until tender (approx. 1 hour) and until the water is absorbed.
  4. To achieve this you need to add water gradually.
  5. Add salt and pepper as desired.
  6. When ready remove the bay leaves.
  7. Boil on another saucepan the rice.
  8. When ready let it cool and mix it with the lentils.
  9. Let the lentil rice cool and then serve.


  • 3 tea cups lentils
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 Onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, mashed
  • 1 carrot, finely cut
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 4 spoons olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
