- Rinse the petals and put them in a jar with lemon juice (can be slightly diluted with some water).
- Leave for 2 hours.
- Boil the sugar with a few spoonfuls of water for 10 minutes, until you get a light syrup.
- Rinse the petals from the lemon juice and put them in the syrup. Boil for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat, squeeze some lemon juice, stir and leave aside to cool before placing in jar.
Author’s note:You need to pay attention when picking the petals of the flowers of lemon trees, so as not to damage the future lemon. Once the flower is pollinated, then the petals should come out very easily, so apply a light pull and if the petal does not come off, leave it for the next day.
Ingredients
- petals from lemon tree flowers (if not available you could use petals from a bitter / Seville orange tree)
- lemon juice
- sugar (3 times the weight of the petals)
- water
