Ostrich Kleftiko


  1. Roast the onions, the peppers, the garlic and the meat softly.
  2. Finish roasting with the wine and add the tomatoes and the cheese.
  3. Open pieces of aluminium foil and spread the mixture on them.
  4. Fold the aluminium foil and bake the meat in preheated oven (200 C) for 45 minutes.


  • 800 gr ostrich steak, cut in cubes
  • 2 medium onions
  • 1 green pepper, cut in thin stripes
  • 1 red pepper, cut in thin stripes
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 250 gr peeled and chopped tomatoes
  • 1 glass of water white wine
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 200 gr kefalotyri cheese, cut in cubes
